Name: Olga
Age: 10 years
Status: Orphan
The names are fictional, but the ages are approximate. For the protection of the children and confidentiality, we do not include photos.
Olga visited the Day Center for the first time on December 5, 2022, accompanied by her grandmother, who learned about the center from a social worker at school.
Olga's story is not simple. Her mother has been seriously ill in recent years, and her father is listed as missing. Due to her mother's illness, Olga's education has been neglected, and as a result, despite being in the 2nd grade, her knowledge level is minimal. She struggles with writing and basic arithmetic. In the summer of 2022, Olga's mother passed away, and her grandmother took custody of her.
During the three months of training, we have focused on mathematics and writing, providing Olga with additional lessons using educational programs like "Rozumnik" on a tablet. These efforts have yielded positive results. Olga is now showing good progress, and we are working closely with her grandmother to support her with homework at home.
Despite her developmental challenges, Olga has been warmly accepted by the other children at the center. She has found friends and understanding in the supportive environment we provide.
